4/18/2024: Cocoanut Grove survivor passes away; Grave sites of Line-of-Duty Deaths & Chiefs of Department – Fire Commissioners

4/18/2024: One of the two known survivors of the Cocoanut Grove Fire, Joyce Spector Mekelburg, passed away today in Dedham, Mass., having reached her 100th birthday just two days prior. See a video of Mrs. Mekelburg on the 75th Anniversary in 2017. Video
Now, the only known survivor is Robert L. Shumway, age 100.
