September 30, 1908 – Captain Allen J. MacDonald, Ladder Company 18, performed ‘A Remarkable Climbing Feat’, at Fire Headquarters on Bristol Street, as described in a Boston Globe newspaper story.
May 21, 1915 – Company received a 1915 Christie Front-Drive 2-wheel motor tractor, Shop # 210T, attached to the 1910 Seagrave 75ft aerial ladder trailer.
February 2, 1926 – Company received a new 1925 American LaFrance, Type 17, motor tractor, Serial # 5381, Shop # 210T, attached to a 1910 Seagrave 75ft aerial ladder trailer.
October 29, 1929 – Company received a new 1929 American LaFrance, Type 17, 85ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # 6674-C513, Shop # 258.
1947 – Ladderman Edward C. Donovan, Ladder Company 18, was awarded the Walter Scott Medal For Valor.
1949 – Company received a 1949 FWD ‘Model F85’ 85ft tiller aerial ladder truck, with 150gal booster, Serial # 73190, Shop # 203.
November 17, 1953 – Company moved to the quarters of Engine Co. 39 at 344 Congress Street, South Boston, one block away. The firehouse at 9 Pittsburgh Street was closed and demolished at a later date.
August 1, 1957 – Company received a new 1957 Mack ‘B85F’ tractor, Serial # B85F1210, Shop # 208T, attached to a 1944 American LaFrance 100ft aerial ladder trailer, Shop # 208.

1978 – Fire Fighter James R. Neff, Ladder Company 18, was awarded the John E. Fitzgerald Medal for the Most Meritorious Act of 1978, for his actions at 17 Middle Street, South Boston, on April 17, 1978.

2017 – Five members of Ladder Company 18, Fire Lieutenant Ryan J. Oag and Fire Fighters Randy J. Greeley, Joshua D. Thompson, Nicholas J. Clifford and Paul F. Aquino, were awarded the Commissioner’s Unit Citation for their actions on Hanover Street, North End, on November 22, 2017. Citation
