October 1, 1849 – Tiger Hook & Ladder Company 2 was organized in East Boston, in a firehouse at (approximately) 69 Paris Street. The firehouse was located on land currently occupied by a portion of the Boston Police District A-7 police station.
1860 – Company was located on Meridian Street, East Boston.
1861 – Company equipped with a ladder truck built by William Hunt Esq. of East Boston. The carriage was materially altered since it was first constructed.
January 1, 1866 – Moved to a new house at 260 Sumner Street , at the corner of Orleans Street.
June 2, 1868 – Company was named Washington Hook & Ladder No. 2.
October, 1868 – Company received with a new ladder truck built by William Hunt Esq. of East Boston, equipped with 32 ladders of varying heights.
1873 – Company names discontinued, reverted back to numbered company only (Ladder 2 – as it remains today).
April 20, 1891 – Company received with a new ladder truck built by Abbott-Downing Company, equipped with 12 ladders of varying heights.
May 18, 1891 – Company moved to quarters of Engine Company 5 at 64 Marion Street , East Boston.
1892 – Company moved to the quarters of Engine Company 9 at 60 Paris Street , East Boston.
1899 – The 1891 Abbott-Downing ladder truck was rebuilt by T. Strangman & Son Company. The truck was still equipped with 12 ladders of varying heights.
October 15, 1923 – Company received a new 1923 American LaFrance, Type 17, four-wheel motor tractor 75ft aerial ladder truck, Serial # 4367-C333, Shop # 237 , replacing the horse-drawn apparatus.
August 14, 1930 – Company temporarily moved to the quarters of Engine Company 40 at 260 Sumner Street , East Boston.
January 21, 1931 – Company moved back to the firehouse at 60 Paris Street.
11/15/1942 – Ladderman Daniel E. McGuire, Ladder Company 2, died in the Line-Of-Duty at the Maverick Square Fire, 12-16 Maverick Square, East Boston, 5 Alarms, Box 6153.
June, 1945 – Company received a new 1945 American LaFrance, B600-Series tractor, Serial # L2113, Shop # 237T , attached to a 1923 American LaFrance 75ft aerial ladder truck, Shop # 237.
January 19, 1946 – Ladderman Harold F. Bishop, Ladder Company 2, died in the Line-Of-Duty while operating at 188 Falcon Street, East Boston, Box 6179.
July 27, 1947 – Company was involved in a collision with a streetcar at Bennington & Marion Streets, East Boston. The aerial ladder trailer, Shop # 237 was damaged beyond repair and was later junked.
November 2, 1948 – Company received the 1945 American LaFrance tractor, Shop # 237T , attached to a 1926 American LaFrance 85ft aerial ladder trailer, Shop # 243.
October 14, 1949 – Company received a new 1949 Pirsch Hydromechanical aerial ladder truck, with Booster, Serial # 1803, Shop # 272.
1971 – Company received a 1956 Seagrave, Model 900T, 100ft aerial ladder truck, Serial # J1331, Shop # 279.
March 13, 1975 – Company received a 1975 Maxim tractor, Shop # 204T , attached to a 1956 Seagrave 100ft aerial ladder trailer, Shop # 279.
May 16, 1977 – Company moved into a new firehouse at 239 Sumner Street , East Boston, along with Engine Company 9 and Engine Company 40. The old firehouse at 60 Paris Street was closed.
1982 – Fire Lieutenant George M. Sacco, Ladder Company 2, was awarded the Walter Scott Medal for Valor for his actions at Logan Airport, Box 612, on January 23, 1982.

December 8, 1984 – Company received a new 1984 110ft rearmount aerial ladder truck, Serial # 3743, Shop # 204.
1989 – Fire Fighter Donald E. Oliver, Ladder Company 2, was awarded the Roll Of Merit. Citation.
July 8, 1993 – Company received a new 1993 Emergency One 110ft rearmount aerial ladder truck, Serial # 12450, Shop # 228.
2005 – Company was redesignated Tower Ladder Company 2. Company received a new 2005 Pierce 95ft tower ladder truck, Serial # 16992-001, Shop # 241.
2006 – Fire Captain John Dempsey, Tower Ladder Company 2, was awarded the Walter Scott Medal for Valor for his actions at 239 Havre Street, East Boston, Box 6154, on January 1, 2006.

2006 – Fire Fighter (On Probation) Joseph A. Kelleher, Tower Ladder Company 2, was awarded the Patrick J. Kennedy Medal of Honor for his actions at 239 Havre Street, East Boston, Box 6154, on January 1, 2006. Citation for Fire Fighter (On Probation) Joseph A. Kelleher.
2007 – Company redesignated Ladder Company 2. Company in service with a spare aerial ladder truck.
January 31, 2008 – Company received a new 2007 Emergency One, Cyclone II, 110ft rearmount aerial ladder truck, with tandem rear wheels and air conditioning, Serial # 133387, Shop # 243.
2008 – Fire Lieutenant Edward M. Kelly, Ladder Company 2, was awarded the Roll Of Merit. Citation
June 1, 2018 – Company received a new 2018 Emergency One ‘Metro’ 100ft, single rear axle, ladder truck, Serial # 141483, Shop # 274.
