October 27, 1915 – Company received a 1915 Christie 2-wheel Front Drive motor tractor, Shop # 214 , attached to the 1902 Perkins combination ladder truck.
May 9, 1916 – Lieutenant M.J. Dacey, Ladder Company 20, was profiled in a Boston Globe newspaper story. Profile
August 5, 1926 – Company received a new 1926 American LaFrance, Type 14, city-service combination ladder truck, Serial # 5594, Shop # 245.
November 19, 1927 – Company received a new 1927 American LaFrance, Type 17, aerial ladder truck, Serial # 6126-C443, Shop # 248.
October 17, 1949 – Company received a new 1949 Pirsch ‘Hydromechanical’ 85ft aerial ladder truck, with 150gal. booster, Serial # 1804, Shop # 273.
May 12, 1953 – Ladderman Daniel P. McLaughlin, Ladder Company 20, died in the Line-Of-Duty from injuries received at 512-520 Dudley Street, Roxbury, Box 1721, 3 Alarms.
1955 – Fire Fighter Francis J. Cady, Ladder Company 20, was awarded the Patrick J. Kennedy Medal of Honor for his actions at 28 Middle Street, South Boston, Box 7236, on December 25, 1955. Citation for Fire Fighter Cady.
July 1, 1961 – Company moved, along with Engine Co. 43, to the former quarters of Engine Co. 23 at 900 Massachusetts Avenue , Roxbury, at the rear of Fire Headquarters.
June 5, 1962 – The address of Ladder 20’s firehouse was changed to 920 Massachusetts Avenue.
April 25, 1963 – Company received a new 1963 Ward LaFrance tractor, Serial # 63-4794, Shop # 215T , attached to a 1950 American LaFrance 85ft aerial ladder trailer, Shop # 234.
September 9, 1968 – Company received a new 1968 American LaFrance 100ft aerial ladder truck, Serial # 12-1-1142, Shop # 240.
1968 – Fire Fighter Charles J. Connolly, Ladder Company 20, was awarded the Roll Of Merit. Citation
1971 – Fire Fighter Paul A. Christian, Ladder Company 20, was awarded the Roll Of Merit. Citation
March 20, 1972 – Company received a new 1972 Maxim 100ft aerial ladder truck, Serial # 2964, Shop # 222.

February 2, 1973 – Fire Fighter Arthur L. Ceurvels, Ladder Company 20, died in the Line-Of-Duty from injuries received when Ladder 20’s rig crashed on the ice-covered Southampton Street Bridge while responding to Box 7311.
