April 21, 1905 Combination Ladder Co. 5 was designated LADDER COMPANY 22. The company was quartered at 44 Monument Street , Charlestown, with Engine Co. 36. Ladder 22 continued to use the 1898 Charles Holloway combination chemical & ladder truck.
June 11, 1917 – Company received a 1917 Christie 2-wheel Front Drive motor tractor, Shop # 222T , attached to the 1898 Charles Holloway combination chemical & ladder trailer.
1924 – Company received a 1915 Christie 2-wheel, Front-Drive motor tractor, Shop # 211T , attached to a 1908 Perkins combination ladder trailer.
June 9, 1925 – Company received a motor city-service combination ladder truck.
November 13, 1929 – Company received a new 1929 American LaFrance, Type 17, 85ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # 6675-C514, Shop # 259.
April 17, 1945 – Lieutenant John J. Murphy, Ladder Company 22, died in the Line-Of-Duty as a result of injuries received while operating at 8 Benedict Street, Charlestown, Box 4136, on April 8, 1945.
July 8, 1950 – Company received a new 1950 American LaFrance, ‘700 Series’, 85ft tiller aerial ladder truck, with 150gal. booster, Serial # L4096-C838, Shop # 245.
1954 – Ladderman Harry E. Bryant, Ladder Company 22, was awarded the Walter Scott Medal for Valor for his actions at 8 Short Street Court, Charlestown, Box 4173, on November 18, 1954.

April 24, 1959 – Company received a 1948 Mack, Type 19, motor tractor, Serial # 19LS-1076, Shop # 403T , attached to a 1950 American LaFrance 85ft aerial ladder trailer, Shop # 245.
1971 – Company received a 1962 Seagrave 100ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # N307, Shop # 209.
November 13, 1972 – Company moved from Charlestown to Brighton, to the quarters of Engine Co. 51 at 425 Faneuil Street , Oak Square, Brighton.
1978 – Company received a 1962 Seagrave 100ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # N305, Shop # 205.
April 10, 1981 – COMPANY DEACTIVATED.

July 26, 2004 – (G.O. 20) INTERIM DEPLOYMENT OF LADDER COMPANY 22. From 0800 hours July 26, 2004 to 0800 hours July 30, 2004, Ladder Company 22 will be placed in service. They shall respond to all struck boxes in the 4000 series. They shall respond to still alarms as directed by the Fire Alarm Office. Ladder Company 22 will be quartered with Engine Company 32. (The interim deployment was due to the Democratic Nation Convention being held at the TD-North Garden in downtown Boston.)
July 30, 2004 – Interim deployment of Ladder Company 22 rescinded.
