January 1, 1912 – The Town of Hyde Park was annexed to the City of Boston. Hyde Park Ladder Co. 1 became Boston Ladder Company 28. The company continued to be quartered in the former Hyde Park Fire Department Headquarters at 30 Winthrop Street , in the Cleary Square area of Hyde Park. The company continued to use a 1910 Seagrave ladder truck, equipped with 12 ladders of varying lengths.
November 8, 1920 – Company received a new 1920 American LaFrance, Type 14, combination city-service ladder truck, Serial # 3178, Shop # 228.
1928 – Company received a 1923 American LaFrance, Type 14, combination city-service ladder truck, with booster, Serial # 4365, Shop # 236.
1946 – Company received a 1923 American LaFrance, Type 14, combination city-service ladder truck, with booster, Serial # 4362, Shop # 232.
May 2, 1949 – Company received a new 1949 American LaFrance, ‘700 Series’ 65ft junior aerial truck, with booster, Serial # L3848, Shop # 268.
1971 – Company received a 1962 Seagrave 85ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # N311, Shop # 213.
1977 – Company received a 1970 American LaFrance 100ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # 12-1-1950, Shop # 203.
1981 – Fire Fighter John F. Carey and Fire Fighter Richard M. Feeley, Ladder Company 28, were awarded the Roll Of Merit for their actions at 752 Metropolitan Avenue, Hyde Park, Box 3736, 2 Alarms, on January 10, 1981. Citation
1982 – Company received a 1976 Seagrave 100ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial #F76061, Shop # 291.
August 2, 1990 – Company received a new 1990 Emergency One 110ft rearmount aerial ladder truck, Serial # 8095, Shop # 221.
1996 – Fire Fighter Edgar C. Honeycutt, Ladder Company 28 (detailed to Ladder Company 24), was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. Citation
July 18, 2008 – Company received a new 2008 Emergency One 110ft rearmount aerial ladder truck, Serial # 134055, Shop # 247.
2017 – Fire Captain Robert J. Counihan, Jr., Ladder Company 28, was awarded the Roll of Merit for his actions on Greenwood Avenue, Hyde Park, on November 21, 2015. Citation
2017 – Four members of Ladder Company 28, Fire Captain Robert J. Counihan and Fire Fighters David R. Blaides, Danny D. Ryan and Anthony J. Vargas, were awarded the Commissioner’s Unit Citation for their actions on Greenwood Avenue, Hyde Park, on November 21, 2015. Citation
2022 – Fire Fighter Dana M. Robinson, Ladder Co. 28, was awarded the Edward H. Hommel, M.D. Medal of Honor. Citation
