The firehouse at this location had been the quarters of (Hand) Engine Company 12, (Hand) Engine Company 3, Engine Company 3, and Aerial Ladder 1 before Ladder 13 was organized. The company was assigned an 1883 American LaFrance/Hayes Extension ladder truck.
November 28, 1889 – The 1883 American LaFrance/Hayes Extension ladder truck of Ladder Company 13 was destroyed in the ‘Thanksgiving Day Fire’ on Bedford Street, Downtown.

August 19, 1901 – Company moved to a new firehouse at 70 Warren Avenue , South End, along with Engine Company 22.
1903 – Ladderman Charles W. Conway and Ladderman Michael J. Dasey, Ladder Company 13, were awarded the Roll Of Merit for their actions at 25 Harwich Street, South End, on December 8, 1903. Citation
1907 – The Fire Department Shops refurbished the 1890 American LaFrance/Hayes Extension ladder truck. The Hayes Extension ladder was equipped with a Dahil Hoist.
March 12, 1910 – Captain Patrick W. Lanegan, Ladder Company 13, died in the Line-Of-Duty from injuries received from falling brick walls at 439 Albany Street, South End, Box 711, 4 Alarms.
May 24, 1912 – Ladderman Leroy James, Ladder Company 13, died in the Line-Of-Duty from an illness contracted while operating at a fire on Huntington Avenue on May 7, 1912.
January 14, 1914 – Ladderman Joseph A. Hackett, Ladder Company 13, Aide to the Division 2 Chief, died in the Line-Of-Duty from injuries received from falling walls at the Bacon Company Fire, 2175 Washington Street, Roxbury, Box 218, 4 Alarms.
July 21, 1915 – Company received a new 1915 Christie Front-Drive 2-wheel motor tractor, Shop # 211T , attached to an 1890 Hayes 85ft aerial ladder trailer (with Dahill Hoist).

June 11, 1960 – Company moved, along with Engine 22, to a new firehouse at 700 Tremont Street , South End. The old firehouse at 70 Warren Avenue was reused by other city departments and was later sold for condominiums.
