September 21, 1954 – Engine Company 18 was designated Engine Squad 18. The company was assigned rescue equipment and was to perform combination engine and rescue service. The company was located at 30 Harvard Street , Dorchester.
July 5, 1955 – Fire Fighter Robert J. Quinn, Engine Squad Company 18, died in the Line-Of-Duty while operating at Box 3343, at 9 Thane Street, Dorchester.
June 11, 1960 – Company moved from the firehouse at 30 Harvard Street , Dorchester, to the firehouse at 1884 Dorchester Avenue (Ashmont) formerly occupied by Engine 46 from 1907 to 1958.
November 23, 1967 – Fire Lieutenant Warren T. Lynch, Engine Squad Company 18, died in the Line-Of-Duty while operating at Box 1777, at 49 Hartford Street, Roxbury.
July 26, 1968 – Company received a new 1968 Ward LaFrance, Model P80, 1250gpm pumper, Serial # 80-241, Shop # 167.
July 1, 1969 – Company was designated Engine Company 18. The rescue equipment that had been carried on Engine Squad 18 was reassigned to Ladder Company 27.
