Aerial Tower 2 (Fire Companies)

November 18, 1970 – Ladder Company 26 was designated AERIAL TOWER 2. The company remained at the firehouse at 560 Huntington Avenue, Roxbury. Company was assigned a new 1970 Sutphen 85ft aerial tower truck, Serial # 13387, Shop #248.

1971 – Fire Fighter Francis P. Byrne, Aerial Tower 2, was awarded the John E. Fitzgerald Award for the Most Meritorious Act of 1971 for his actions at 820 Beacon Street, Back Bay, Box 2323, on November 16, 1971.

1974 – Acting Fire Lieutenant Charles E. Graul, Aerial Tower 2, was awarded the Patrick K. Kennedy Medal of Honor for his actions in 1974.

1975 – Fire Fighter Walter T. McGinn, Aerial Tower 2, was awarded the Roll of Merit for his actions at 307 Huntington Avenue, Back Bay, on August 23, 1975. Citation

February 4, 1977 – Aerial Tower 2 was designated LADDER COMPANY 26. Ladder 26 received a 1972 Maxim 100ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # 2962, Shop #229.

July 15, 1977 – Ladder Company 27 was designated AERIAL TOWER 2. Company remained at the firehouse at 301 Neponset Avenue, Dorchester. Company received a 1970 Sutphen 75ft tower ladder truck, Serial # 13368, Shop #249.

January 14, 1982 – COMPANY DEACTIVATED.
