Tower Ladder Co. 3 (Fire Companies)

September 7, 2002 – Effective 0800 hours, Saturday, September 7, 2002, the Tower Company will be designated Tower Ladder Co. 3 (G.O. #27). The company was assigned the 1992 Emergency One 95ft rearmount tower ladder, Shop # 225, formerly assigned to the Tower Company.

2004 – Fire Fighter Cornelius M. Keane, Tower Ladder Company 3, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award. Citation

2005 – Fire Fighter Sharon M. Chambers, Tower Ladder Company 3, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award. Citation

4/18/2007 – Company received a 2005 Pierce 95ft. tower ladder truck, ex-Tower Ladder 2, Serial # 16992-001, Shop # 241.

2012 – Fire Lieutenant Thomas M. Goggin, Tower Ladder Company 3, was awarded the Edward H. Hommel, M.D., Medal of Honor. Citation

2016 – Four members of Tower Ladder Company 3, Acting Fire Lieutenant Stephen V. Mark and Fire Fighters James T. Nee, Michael J. McManus and Sean M. Connolly, were awarded the Commissioner’s Unit Citation for their actions on Fruit Street, Downtown, on August 19, 2016. Citation

2016 – Four members of Tower Ladder Company 3, Fire Lieutenant Edward P. Stokinger and Fire Fighters Shawn L. Teeple, Daniel R. Martell and Michael A. Jay, were awarded the Commissioner’s Unit Citation for their actions on Hereford Street, Back Bay, on November 23, 2016. Citation

2017 – Three members of Tower Ladder Company 3, Fire Lieutenant Erik C. Then, Fire Fighter Matthew A. Buckley and Fire Fighter Daniel R. Martell, were awarded the Commissioner’s Unit Citation for their actions on Hanover Street, North End, on November 22, 2017. Citation

5/4/2018 – Company received a new 2018 Emergency One 95ft tower ladder truck, Serial # 141647, Shop #272.

2019 – Three members of Tower Ladder Company 3 received awards: Fire Captain Michael J. McCarthy received the Gerard J. Molito Award: Citation ; Fire Fighter Brett R. Hardy received a Special Commendation: Citation ; Fire Fighter Michael A. Jay received a Special Commendation: Citation

2021 – Three members of Tower Ladder Company 3 were awarded the Roll of Merit for their actions at 165 Kneeland Street, Downtown, Box 1435 – 2 alarms, on October 15, 2021. Fire Lieutenant Daniel Martell Citation; Fire Fighter Michael Connolly Citation and Fire Fighter Eric Wier. Citation

2022 – Four members of Tower Ladder Company 3, Fire Lieutenant James F. Colvin and Fire Fighters Jonathan J. Carrington, Christopher A. Williams and Michael D. Crowley were awarded the Roll Of Merit for their actions at 776 Summer Street, South Boston, on May 2, 2022. Citation
