4/18/2024: One of the two known survivors of the Cocoanut Grove Fire, Joyce Spector Mekelburg, passed away today in Dedham, Mass., having reached her 100th birthday just two days prior. See a video of Mrs. Mekelburg on the 75th Anniversary in 2017. Video
Now, the only known survivor is Robert L. Shumway, age 100.

The grave sites of many Line-of-Duty-Deaths (LODD) and Chiefs of Department and Fire Commissioners have been added to their respective sections with the Personnel section. More grave sites will be added shortly.
2/1/2024: Recently, the City of Boston Archives posted a collection of photographs of the Cocoanut Grove, in the aftermath of the fire. The photographs were taken by the Massachusetts State Police. The Link has been placed in the BFHS webpage on the fire. Cocoanut Grove Fire Story
