July 10, 1883 – Company organized at the quarters of, and replaced, Chemical Engine Company 7 at 30 Mt. Vernon Street , near Centre Street, West Roxbury. Equipped with 1871 Hunneman steam engine, Serial # 718, ex-Engine 28. (G.O. 218)

October 9, 1891 – Company received a new 1891 Clapp & Jones Third Size steam engine, Serial # 566.

June 1, 1898 – Company moved to a new firehouse at 1940 Centre Street , West Roxbury. The old firehouse at 30 Mt. Vernon Street was closed.

April 23, 1900 – Combination Ladder Co. 9 was organized at the quarters of Engine 30. (G.O. 546)

February, 1910 – Company received an 1890 Amoskeag Third Size steam engine, Serial # 665, ex-Engine 2.

December 3, 1912 – Engineer William H. Clay, Engine Company 30, died in the Line-Of-Duty.Photo of Engineer William H. Clay, Engine 30, LODD 12/3/1912.

January 25, 1916 – Engine 30 was wrecked, and 2 members were injured, in a crash on Chapin Avenue, West Roxbury.

October 18, 1921 – Company received a new 1921 American LaFrance, Type 75, 750gpm, Triple Combination pumper, Serial # 3610, Shop # 140.

June 4, 1926 – Company changed from Single-unit to Double-unit operation. The company received a new 1926 American LaFrance, Type 75, Combination Hose & Chemical wagon, Serial # 5529, Shop # 353.

October 5, 1931 – Company received a new 1931 American LaFrance, Type 307RC, 750gpm pumper, Serial # 7415, Shop # 184. The 1921 American LaFrance pumper, Shop # 140, was placed in reserve.

November 7, 1932 – A 1932 American LaFrance 1000 gpm pumper, Serial # 7471, Shop # 185, placed in service. The 1926 ALF hose wagon, Shop # 353, was transferred to Engine 52. Engine 30 now operating with two pumpers. The 1932 ALF 1000 gpm pumper, Shop # 185, is the hose wagon.

November, 1938 – The 1932 ALF 1000 gpm pumper, Shop # 185, was transferred to Engine 45. Engine 30 received a 1922 ALF 750 gpm pumper, Serial # 3917, Shop # 153, ex-Engine 45.

March 11, 1947 – A 1942 Chevrolet 750 gpm pumper, ex US Army, Shop # 111, placed in service. The 1926 ALF pumper, Shop # 153, sent to reserve.

September 12, 1947 – Company received a new 1947 Ward LaFrance, Type 85T, 750gpm pumper, Serial # 47-2280, Shop # 128. The 1931 ALF 750 gpm pumper, Shop # 184, was transferred to Engine 19.

October 19, 1953 – Hoseman Arthur E. Gately, Engine Company 30, died in the Line-Of-Duty.Photo of Hoseman Arthur E. Gately, Engine 30, LODD 10/19/1953.

September 24, 1956 – Company changed to Single-unit operation.

1968 – Company received a 1947 Mack, Type 19, 1000gpm pumper, Serial # 19LS-1066, Shop # 125.

1970 – Company received a 1968 Ward LaFrance, Model P80, 1250gpm pumper, Serial # 80-246, Shop # 171, ex-Engine 26.

December 30, 1970 – Fire Fighter Edwin H. Foley, Engine Company 30, died in the Line-Of-Duty, at Box 285.

January 22, 1974 – Fire Fighter Bernard G. Tully, Engine Company 30, died in the Line-Of-Duty. Engine 30’s 1968 Ward LaFrance pumper was in a collision with a rubbish truck, on a very icy morning, while responding to a Still Alarm on Centre Street, West Roxbury.Photo of Fire Fighter Bernard G. 1982 – Company received a 1971 Hahn 1500gpm pumper, Serial # C15-14, Shop # 154 , ex-Engine 33, 32.

January 29, 1985 – Company received a new 1985 Emergency One/Ford 1250gpm pumper, Serial # 3893, Shop # 110.

October 31, 1996 – Company received a new 1996 Emergency One ‘Cyclone’ 1250gpm pumper, Serial # 16497, Shop # 144.

August 29, 2007 – Fire Fighter Paul J. Cahill, Engine Company 30, died in the Line-Of-Duty at Box 281, 4 alarms.

2013 – Fire Fighter Charles F. Follett, Engine Company 30, was awarded the Edward H. Hommel, M.D., Medal of Honor. Citation

2016 – Four members of Engine Company 30, Fire Captain John P. Dolan and Fire Fighters Michael P. Feeney, Larentz O. Greene and James S. Philpott were awarded the Commissioner’s Unit Citation for their actions on LaGrange Street, Newton, MA, on August 4, 2016. Citation

February 16, 2020 – Company received a new 2019 Emergency One ‘Typhoon’ 1250gpm/560g tank/30g foam pumper, Shop # 126.
