December 10, 1921 – Company organized at the quarters of Chemical Engine Company 11 and Ladder Company 29 at 120 Callender Street , Dorchester, at the corner of Lyford Street. The company was equipped with a new 1921 American LaFrance, Type 75, 750gpm pumper, Serial # 3613, Shop # 145.  Chemical Engine Company 11 was disbanded.

December 21, 1927 – Company received a 1919 American LaFrance, Type 75, 750gpm Triple Combination pumper, Serial # 2655, Shop # 126 , ex-Engine 51. The 1921 ALF pumper, Shop # 145, was reassigned to Engine 51.

November, 1932 – Company changed from Single-unit to Double-unit operation. The company was assigned a 1926 American LaFrance, Type 75, Hose & Chemical Wagon, Serial # 5529, Shop # 353 , ex-Engine 30.

August, 1939 – Company’s pumper was swapped with Engine 51. The 1921 American LaFrance pumper, Shop # 145 , ex-Engines 52 & 51, was again in service at Engine 52. It replaced the 1919 ALF pumper, Shop # 126 , which was reassigned to Engine 51 for Single-unit operation.

1943 – Hoseman Arthur L. Bourdo, Engine Company 52, was awarded the Roll Of Merit.

1945 – Hoseman Leo S. Manning, Engine Company 52, was awarded the John E. Fitzgerald Medal for the Most Meritorious Act of 1945.

July 2, 1948 – Company received a 1947 Mack, Type 19, 1000gpm pumper, Serial # 19LS-1066, Shop # 125 , ex-Engine 33.

March 14, 1950 – Company received a 1930 American LaFrance, Type 212, Hose & Booster Wagon, Serial # 7236, Shop # 378 , ex-Engine 3.

August 11, 1954 – Company was changed to Single-unit operation. The 1947 Mack pumper, Shop # 125 was returned to service after conversion for Single-unit operation.

1966 – Fire Lieutenant Elliott J. Miller, Engine Company 52, was awarded the Roll Of Merit. Citation

October 7, 1967 – Company moved temporarily to the quarters of Engine 16 at 9 Gallivan Blvd., Dorchester, while repairs are made to the firehouse.

October 18, 1967 – Company returned to quarters at 120 Callender Street.

July 26, 1968 – Company received a new 1968 Ward LaFrance, Model P80, 1250gpm diesel pumper, Serial # 80-244, Shop #169.

September 17, 1970 – Company received a new 1970 Hahn 1250gpm pumper, Serial # C12-40, Shop # 147.

August 5, 1971 – Company received a new 1971 Hahn 1500gpm pumper, Serial # C15-18, Shop # 158.

June 27, 1973 – Company moved, along with Ladder Company 29, to a new firehouse at 975 Blue Hill Avenue. The old firehouse at 120 Callender Street was closed.

1978 – Fire Fighter Ronald Gatnick, Engine Company 52, was awarded the Roll Of Merit. Citation.

January 2, 1979 – Company received a new 1978 Hahn 1500gpm pumper, Serial # HCP-58, Shop # 106, painted lime-green.

February 28, 1987 – Company received a new 1987 Emergency One ‘Cyclone’ 1250gpm pumper, Serial # 5294, Shop # 126.

August 13, 2001 – Company received a new 2001 Emergency One ‘Cyclone II’ 1000gpm pumper, Serial # 123430, Shop # 157.

2002 – Fire Fighter David M. Ostiguy, Engine Company 52, was awarded the Edward H. Hommel, M.D. Medal of Honor for his actions on Walk Hill Street, Mattapan, on June 5, 2000.

August 28, 2012 – Company received a new 2012 KME ‘Severe Service’ model, 1250gpm, pumper, Serial # 8518, Shop # 181.

2016 – Four members of Engine Company 52, Acting Fire Lieutenant Sean M. Hughes and Fire Fighters Michael J. Cullen, Michael T. O’Sullivan and Donato G. Mercury, were awarded the Commissioner’s Unit Citation for their actions on Blue Hill Avenue, Dorchester, on December 25, 2016. Citation

June 30, 2017 – Company received a new 2017 Emergency One ‘Typhoon’ pumper, 1250gpm/560g/30f tank, Serial # 141060, Shop # 108.

2020 – Company received a spare 2009 Emergency One 1250/500 Cyclone II pumper, Shop # 173

November 7, 2022 – Company received a new 2022 Emergency-One Typhoon pumper, 1250gpm/560g tank/30g foam, Serial # 145011, Shop # 136.
