July 31, 1880 – Company organized at the quarters of Hose Company 7 (Roxbury) at 1046 Tremont Street , near Cunard Street, Roxbury. The company was assigned a new 1880 J. Ryan Brothers ladder truck, equipped with 13 ladders of varying lengths.
May 15, 1894 – The ‘Roxbury Conflagration’ occurred, burning over 200 buildings, including the firehouse of Ladder 12 and Hose 7. The fire started in the grandstand of the Walpole Street Ballgrounds. After the fire, Ladder Company 12 temporarily moved into Engine 13’s firehouse at 201 Cabot Street, Roxbury.
September, 1896 – Company moved into the newly rebuilt firehouse at 1046 Tremont Street.

1901 – Ladderman Frederick F. Leary, Ladder Company 12, was awarded the Roll Of Merit. Citation
November, 1896 – The 1880 J. Ryan Brothers ladder truck was rebuilt by the Fire Department Shops and placed in service.
February 20, 1912 – Ladder 12 horse-drawn apparatus plunged 50ft over a ledge while descending Parker Hill Avenue. The story was described in a Boston Globe newspaper story. Newspaper Story
September 20, 1915 – Company received a new 1915 Christie front-drive 2-wheel tractor, Shop # 209T , attached to a 1891 Preston 75ft aerial ladder truck.
May 8, 1916 – Lieutenant Hamilton A. McClay, Ladder Company 12, was profiled in a Boston Globe newspaper story. Profile
May 22, 1922 – Company received a 1919 American LaFrance, Type 31, aerial ladder truck, Serial # 2651-C227, Shop # 224.
November 26, 1928 – Company received a new 1928 American LaFrance, Type 17, 85ft aerial ladder truck, Serial # 6407-C474, Shop # 254.
1944 – Ladderman James A. McDonald, Ladder Company 12, was awarded the Roll Of Merit.
1949 Company received a 1936 Seagrave V12 aerial ladder truck, with 100gal. booster, Serial # 82000, Shop # 264.
1950 – Ladderman Lloyd C. Philips, Ladder Company 12, was awarded the first Patrick J. Kennedy Medal of Honor for his actions 42 Cunard Street, Roxbury, Box 2213, on November 27, 1950.

1951 – Lieutenant Emilio F. Marino, Ladder Company 12, was awarded the John E. Fitzgerald Medal for the Most Meritorious Act of 1951.
1952 – Company received a 1950 American LaFrance ‘700 Series’ aerial ladder truck, with 150gal. booster, Serial # L4094-C836, Shop # 233.
March 30, 1955 – Company received a new 1955 FWD ‘Model FED 75T’ tractor, Serial # A80115, Shop # 205T , attched to a 1950 American LaFrance 85ft aerial ladder trailer, Shop # 233.
September 18, 1957 – Company received a 1948 Mack, Type 19, tractor, Serial # 19LS1076, Shop # 403T , attached to a 1950 American LaFrance 85ft aerial ladder trailer, Shop # 233.
1958 – Fire Fighter Leon G. Crispo, Ladder Company 12, was awarded the Roll Of Merit. Citation
May 8, 1959 – Company received a 1957 Mack, Type B85F, tractor, Serial # B85F-1209, Shop # 252T , attached to a 1950 American LaFrance 85ft aerial ladder trailer, Shop # 233.
1959 – Fire Fighter John L. Campbell, Ladder Company 12, was awarded the John E. Fitzgerald Medal for the Most Meritorious Act of 1959, for his actions on Blackstone Street, Downtown, Box 1258, 3 Alarms, on March 27, 1959. Citation for Fire Fighter Campbell.
1959 – Fire Lieutenant Warren A. Hardy, Ladder Company 12, was awarded the Walter Scott Medal for Valor for his actions on Blackstone Street, Downtown, Box 1258, 3 Alarms, on March 27, 1959. Citation for Fire Lieutenant Hardy.
