April 21, 1905 – Combination Ladder Co. 11 was designated LADDER COMPANY 27 and remained at the firehouse at 32 Walnut Street , in the Neponset section of Dorchester. The company continued to use a 1901 Charles T. Perkins combination ladder truck equipped with 9 ladders of varying lengths.
May 22, 1916 – Lieutenant Coleman E. Clougherty, Ladder Company 27, was profiled in a Boston Globe newspaper story. Profile
September 28, 1923 – Company received a new 1923 American LaFrance, Type 14, motor city-service combination ladder truck, Serial # 4364, Shop # 235.
June 1, 1938 – Company moved to Engine 46’s quarters at 1884 Dorchester Avenue , Peabody Square, Dorchester.
1945 – Lieutenant Thomas J. Clark, Ladder Company 27, was awarded the Walter Scott Medal for Valor.
November 25, 1946 – Company moved back to Engine 20’s quarters at 32 Walnut Street, Neponset.
June 26, 1947 – Company moved to Engine 46’s quarters at 1884 Dorchester Avenue, Peabody Square, Dorchester.
March 21, 1949 – Company received a new 1949 American LaFrance ‘700 Series’ 65ft junior aerial ladder truck, with booster, Serial # L3817, Shop # 265.
1951 – James L. Crawford, Ladder Company 27, detailed to Ladder Co. 4, was awarded the Patrick J. Kennedy Medal of Honor, for his actions at 935 Albany Street, Roxbury, on November 29, 1951. Citation
August 12, 1958 – Company moved into a new firehouse, along with Engine Co. 20, at 301 Neponset Avenue , in the Neponset section of Dorchester.
1960 – Company received a 1949 American LaFrance ‘700 Series’ 65ft junior aerial ladder truck, with booster, Serial # L3847, Shop # 267.
1969 – Company received a 1963 Ward LaFrance tractor, Serial # 63-4794, Shop # 215T , attached to a 1950 American LaFrance 85ft aerial ladder trailer, Shop # 234.
1973 – Company received a 1962 Seagrave 85ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # N310, Shop # 212.
July 15, 1977 – Ladder Co. 27 was designated AERIAL TOWER 2. Company received a 1970 Sutphen 75ft tower ladder truck, Serial # 13368, Shop # 249.
January 14, 1982 – COMPANY DEACTIVATED.
