December 12, 1912 – The first motor combination city-service & chemical ladder truck to be used in Boston was designated LADDER COMPANY 29. The truck was a 1912 American LaFrance, Type 14, Serial # 214, Shop # 200. The truck was quartered with Chemical Engine Co. 11 at 120 Callender Street , Dorchester. The truck was given assignments for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd alarms, but no company was organized.
January 23, 1913 – Ladder Company 29 was organized at 120 Callender Street , Dorchester. Company received the new 1912 American LaFrance, Type 14, city-service combination ladder truck, with booster, Serial # 214, Shop # 200.
May 18, 1916 – Captain L.D. Merrill, Ladder Company 29, was profiled in a Boston Globe newspaper story. Profile
December 6, 1920 – Ladderman William J. Cox, Ladder Company 29, died in the Line-Of-Duty from injuries received while operating at 1193 Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan, Box 3526, on December 1, 1920.
1924 – Company received a 1913 American LaFrance, Type 14, city-service combination ladder truck, with booster, Serial # 216, Shop # 202.
1927 – Company received a 1926 American LaFrance, Type 14, city-service combination ladder truck, with booster, Serial # 5594, Shop # 245.
1942 – Ladderman Thomas J. Cooney, Ladder Company 29, was awarded the Roll Of Merit.
August 21, 1949 – Company received a new 1949 Maxim, Model ‘237-LA65’ 65ft junior aerial ladder truck,, with booster, Serial # 1686, Shop # 271.
1954 – Company received a 1952 Mack, Type 85, 65ft junior aerial ladder truck,, with booster, Serial # 85LS-1584, Shop # 277.
October 7, 1967 – Company moved temporarily to the quarters of Engine 16 at 9 Gallivan Blvd., Dorchester, while repairs are made to the firehouse.
October 18, 1967 – Company returned to quarters at 120 Callender Street.
1971-1972 – Company was briefly assigned a 1950 Mack 65ft junior aerial ladder truck, Serial # 85LS-1418, Shop # 232.
June 20, 1972 – Company received a new 1972 Maxim 100ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # 2962, Shop # 229.
1972 – Fire Fighter William M. Burns and Fire Fighter Robert E. Dillon, Ladder Company 29, were awarded the Roll Of Merit. Citation
June 27, 1973 – Company moved, along with Ladder Company 29, to a new firehouse at 975 Blue Hill Avenue. The old firehouse at 120 Callender Street was closed.
