January 1, 1874 – A new Hunneman Second Size steam engine, Serial # 731, in service as Brighton Fire Department Engine 1, at 20 Chestnut Hill Avenue , Brighton.
January 5, 1874 – The Town of Brighton was annexed to the City of Boston. The steam engine company at 20 Chestnut Hill Avenue , near Washington Street, Brighton, became part of the Boston Fire Department.
May 20, 1874 – The Board of Fire Commissioners voted to designate Brighton Engine 1 as Boston Engine Company 29, the change taking place the first week of June.
1907 – Company received a 1890 Amoskeag Third Size steam engine, Serial # 664, ex-Engine 36 & Relief J, replacing the 1874 Hunneman steam engine.
January, 1911 – Company received a new 1911 Amoskeag Second Size steam engine, built by the American-British Co., Serial # 850.
September 19, 1923 – Company received a new 1923 American LaFrance, Type 75, 750gpm pumper, Serial # 4346, Shop # 161 , and a new 1923 American LaFrance, Type 75, combination Hose & Chemical wagon, Serial # 4352, Shop # 347 , replacing the horse-drawn apparatus.
December 20, 1929 – Company moved to new firehouse at 138 Chestnut Hill Avenue , Brighton. The old firehouse at 20 Chestnut Hill Avenue was closed.
August 9, 1939 – Company received a 1931 American LaFrance, Type 212, Hose & Booster wagon, Serial # 7379, Shop # 391 , ex-Engine 51.
April 22, 1946 – Company received a 1936 Ahrens Fox, Model B-T, 1000gpm pumper, Serial # 4014, Shop # 188 , ex-Engine 50.
July 22, 1948 – Company received a 1936 Mack, Type 19, 1000gpm pumper, Serial # 1088, Shop # 189 , ex-Engine 5, placed in service as the Hose Wagon.
April 6, 1956 – Engine Company 29 was moved to 444 Western Avenue, Brighton , and redesignated as Engine Company 34. Engine Squad 29 was placed in service at 138 Chestnut Hill Avenue , using a converted 1947 Mack, Type 85, hose wagon, Serial # 85LS-1157, Shop # 335 , ex-Engine 34, as the pumper.
July 31, 1969 – Company was redesignated as Engine Company 29, operating as a Single-unit.
May 21, 1970 – Company received a 1968 Ward LaFrance, Model P80, 1250gpm pumper, Serial # 80-242, Shop # 168, ex-Engine 21.
1971 – Fire Captain Joseph L. Tehan, Engine Company 29, was awarded the Roll Of Merit. Citation
1974 – Fire Lieutenant Charles M. Rozanski, Engine Company 29, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award. Citation
1977 – Fire Fighter Robert T. Gorman, Engine Company 29, was awarded the John E. Fitzgerald Medal for the Most Meritorious Act – 1977, for his actions in Brighton at Box 5332 on December 2, 1977.

October 9, 1979 – Company received a 1968 Ward LaFrance, Model P80, 1250gpm pumper, Serial # 80-236, Shop # 164, ex-Engine 20, painted Lime-Green.
November 2, 1981 – Company received a 1970 Hahn 1250gpm pumper, Serial # C12-30, Shop # 110 , ex-Engine 8.
November 10, 1984 – Company received a new 1984 Sutphen, 1500gpm pumper, Serial # HS 1853, Shop # 190.
October 28, 1991 – Company received a new 1991 Emergency One ‘Protector’ 1250gpm pumper, Serial # 8961, Shop # 130.
April 21, 2007 – Company received a new 2007 Emergency One ‘Cyclone II’ 1250gpm pumper, Serial # 132306, Shop # 168.
2013 – Fire Fighter Elson F. Monteiro, Engine Company 29, was awarded the Edward H. Hommel, M.D., Medal of Honor. Citation
2019 – Four members of Engine Company 29, Fire Lieutenant Edmundo James and Fire Fighters Roy A. Mills, Justin M. Bissonnette and Roberto Sepulveda, were awarded the Commissioner’s Unit Citation for their actions on Washington Street, Brighton, on February 14, 2019. Citation
