Water Tower 1 (Fire Companies)

December 18, 1893 – The Water Tower in service at 5 Bulfinch Street, Downtown, was designated Water Tower 1.

April 10, 1915 – Tractor of Water Tower 1 was changed to an American-British Co. gas-electric powered tractor.

September 14, 1923 – Company moved to Fort Hill Square, Downtown.

January 18, 1927 – Tractor was replaced with a 4-wheel motor tractor. A tiller wheel to steer the trailer portion of the water tower was added.

November 10, 1930 – Company moved to the Bowdoin Square, Downtown, firehouse.

October 17, 1933 – Company moved to Fort Hill Square, Downtown.

December 16, 1943 – Company moved to the Bowdoin Square, Downtown, firehouse.

May 1, 1956 – Company disbanded.
