April 21, 1905 – Combination Ladder Co. 8 was designated LADDER COMPANY 24. The company continued to be quartered at 16 North Grove Street , Beacon Hill. The company continued to use an 1899 Fire Extinguisher Mfg. Co. ladder truck.
1909 – Company received a 1901 Charles T. Holloway & Co. ladder truck equipped with 7 ladders of varying lengths.
October 18, 1923 – Company received a new 1923 American LaFrance, Type 14, combination city-service ladder truck, Serial # 4365, Shop # 236. This was the last fire company to switch from horse-drawn apparatus to motor apparatus.
1928 – Company received a 1922 American LaFrance, Type 17, 75ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # 3766-C302, Shop # 230.
November 10, 1930 – Company moved to the new firehouse at Bowdoin Square.
November 20, 1930 – Company received a new 1930 American LaFrance, Type 217, 85ft aerial ladder truck, Serial # 7252-C549, Shop # 260.
January 20, 1931 – Ladderman Michael A. Riley, Ladder Company 24, died in the Line-Of-Duty from injuries received at 126-132 High Street, Downtown, Box 1291, 3 Alarms.
1935 – Ladderman William F. Linehan, Ladder Company 24, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award.
January 7, 1949 – Company received a new 1949 Pirsch ‘Hydromechanical’ 85ft aerial ladder truck, with booster, Serial # 1801, Shop # 257.
1956 – Lieutenant Joseph F. White, Ladder Company 24, was awarded the John E. Fitzgerald Medal for the Most Meritorious Act of 1952 for his actions in Downtown Boston on September 4, 1952.

1961 – Fire Fighter Francis E. Callahan and Fire Fighter Francis J. Troy, Ladder Company 24, were awarded the Roll Of Merit for their actions at 80 Mt. Vernon Street, Beacon Hill, on April 23, 1961. Citation
July 10, 1962 – Company received a new 1962 Seagrave 100ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # N305, Shop # 205.
October 28, 1963 – Company moved to temporary quarters at Engine 25’s quarters at 123 Oliver Street , Downtown. The firehouse at Bowdoin Square was closed and later demolished.
May 3, 1965 – Company moved, along with Engine Co. 4, into a new firehouse located at 200 Cambridge Street , Beacon Hill.
1977 – Company received a 1971 Maxim, F Model, 100ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # 2872, Shop # 219.
1981 – Fire Fighter John F. O’Neil, Ladder Company 24, was awarded the Walter Scott Medal for Valor for his actions at Box 1368, 2 Alarms, on November 11, 1981. Citation for Fire Fighter John F. O’Neil.
1985 – Company received a 1973 Maxim 100ft tiller aerial ladder truck, Serial # 3128, Shop # 208.
1986 – Fire Fighter Edward J. Finch and Fire Fighter On Probation (FFOP) Frank C. Rogier, Ladder Company 24, were awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. Citation
June 20, 1988 – Company received a new 1988 Emergency One 110ft rearmount aerial ladder truck, Serial # 6018, Shop # 211.
1996 – Fire Fighter Thomas Flynn, Ladder Company 24, was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. Citation
