August 1, 1920 – Company received a 1919 Pierce Arrow rescue truck, Serial # 66766, Shop # 330.
June 5, 1922 – Company moved to the former quarters of Chemical Engine Co. 2 at 25 Church Street , Bay Village.
April 17, 1928 – Company moved into the the new firehouse at 194 Broadway , Downtown, along with Engines 26 & 35 and Water Tower 2.
January 23, 1930 – Company received a new 1930 Federal, Model F-7, rescue van, Shop # 372.
June, 1947 – Company received a new 1947 Mack/Lacey rescue van, Serial # EHIS-7093, Shop # 393.
October 22, 1946 – Hoseman Warren E. Barnard, Rescue Company 1, died in the Line-Of-Duty while operating at 70 Chauncey Street, Downtown, Box 1463.

1954 – Company received a 1947 Mack/Lacey rescue van, ex-Rescue 2, Serial # 7092, Shop # 394.
November 9, 1954 – Company’s apparatus was deactivated. The company’s equipment was transferred to Engine Company 7.
December 1, 1955 – COMPANY DEACTIVATED.
October 25, 1972 – COMPANY REACTIVATED. Company was assigned the 1964 Mack/Gerstenslager rescue van, Serial # B85F-1488, Shop #303 , previously assigned to the Rescue Company. The company was quartered at 123 Oliver Street , Downtown.

March 6, 1974 – Lieutenant James F. Flahive, Rescue Company 1, died in the Line-Of-Duty from injuries received while operating at 70 Chauncey Street, Downtown, Box 1463, on October 22, 1946. Lieutenant Flahive was hospitalized for a period of time before being discharged. Due to his injuries, he never returned to duty.
